New Discovery Center at Albany Pine Bush

ALBANY – On June 16-17 from 10am to 4pm, the Albany Pine Bush will have the Discovery Center grand opening. The Discovery Center introduces visitors to one of 20 inland pine barren environments in the world. You can touch a snake skin, make a sand dune, plan a prescribed fire, learn how to help the environment, and experience live Pine Bush animals with Discovery Center staff and Beth Bidwell from the Wildlife Institute of Eastern New York. Plus, explore the interactive exhibits, displays and programs that interpret the history of the Pine Bush.

The center is open year-round and admission is free. The Albany Pine Bush Preserve Commission offers monthly outings and programs for individuals and families. For more information, visit www.albanypinebush.org.
