“Hike for CCRAP” Fundraiser for Crohn’s and Colitis

GLENS FALLS – the “Hike for CCRAP” (Crohn’s/Colitis Recovery, Awareness and Prevention) is a fundraiser to benefit Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America. These diseases affect about one-million people, yet there is still a lot of information that doctors do not know about them. Apart from surgery, there is no cure for Crohn’s and Colitis and the cause of the diseases remains unknown.

The cofounders of Hike for CCRAP are Emily Davis and Ben Attanasio, who will hike the 133-mile Northville-Placid Trail from July 11th to 21st to raise money for the cause. Emily is a patient currently in remission from these diseases, and is commemorating the second anniversary of her second operation of her colorectal surgery. Emily and Ben will chronicle the trip with a day-by-day journal, photographs, and video.

All proceeds from this fundraiser will go to the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America (www.ccfa.org) in hopes that more attention from researchers, doctors, and the public alike will be concentrated on these diseases. For more information on the hike and these diseases as well as Emily’s experience with her illness, visit www.hikeforccrap.com.
